AH Fox DE Grade
AH Fox DE Grade
Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum as I hope to gain some knowledge on an AH Fox shotgun that has been in my family since 1917. I live in New Zealand, so you just don't see these anywhere. It is a DE grade (Special D on action flats) with two original sets of 30" barrels (each with their own fore end) and a selective factory trigger. The action is scroll and game scene engraved. Each set of barrels has the original swing tag with the pellet count information, and there is also a small AH Fox gun book (all a little oily!). This is all fitted in its green lined solid leather case with brass corners. The serial number is in the 244xx range. The gun is used on the skeet range about once a year at the most, and is really now just getting to the stage where it is gathering dust in the gun cabinet. My digital camera is being repaired at the moment, so unfortunately I don't have any way of taking any photos right now. Any thoughts or feedback on this little beauty would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks in advance, I look forward to reading.

Bestgun,
Thanks for that 6.4 tremor....with smaller aftershocks hitting W.NY and E.PA.
Just when you think we have seen everything.....God I love it!!! This would have to be, hands down our winner for the long-distance Fox!!
Would love to see some pics and learn the history behind this one!! Assume that a relative originally acquired this in the states, as most of the world was mired in the first great conflagration back in 1917?
Any chance you could hop a commuter flight and bring her to Rhode Island for the weekend??? You bring the FOSTERS, we'll buy the lobster....LOL!!
We have had a few DE "walk-ins" if memory serves me right.
Please show us some pics and keep us posted. ------TOOL MAN

On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

Re: AH Fox DE Grade
Perhaps a PM to Silvers with a card request would clear up the how and when this rare Fox made its way to New Zealand.

Thanks Romac for the vote of confidence.
I'd like to clarify a few things for readers. I and the other 4 BD's are bound by our policy (sticky in the Members Forum) whereby card checks are only done for AHFCA members. I don't know if Mr Bestgun is a member or not.... I see he registered as a user yesterday. Policy also states that card checks are not requested by PM but rather by posting the request in the Members Forum, and the card copy is emailed to the member. Then the member can post if s/he wishes to. Lastly, please note that any of the 5 BD's will do card checks for members depending on who is on line first.
However with all that said this DE does sound like a very neat gun, and I along with the others would like to see pics and more details. Silvers
