Where to have stock refinished

Post by Ithaca33 »

I live in New Haven CT and have decided to send my sterlingworth stock out to be stripped and refinished. I know many choose to do this themselves but i love this gun too much to make it my first attempt at stock refinishing.

Any suggestions in the NE area? Depending on costs I may have the checkering touched up as well.

Thank you,
Pat

Client Meier http://www.cgm-gunstockcheckering.com/ has done excellent work for me. He is not in the North East but since you will probably be mailing the stock the shipping will most likely be the same.

These guys are in upstate NY - I have not used them but talked to them about a Fox project and they seemed knowledgeable and easy to work with. They do a lot of restoration work.

Craig Libhart who has Susquehanna Stockworks near Marietta, Pa, and Dewey Vicknair who has VICKNAIR RESTORATIONS near Litiz,Pa. are both excellent. Google their website. You would not be disappointed......................

I do my own work, but I recommend Dave Furman in Vermont.
