I just received my Callahan letter on my 20 ga. Fox Sterlingworth that
I purchased from CSC/Galazan this past May. It letters as having 26 "
barrels, IC/M with a ship date of June 17, 1927 to Sears Roebuck Co.
The question I had concerns the variation of this gun: Brush. I under-
stand Field and Trap, but what is a Brush gun, and how was it used?
What kind of game was pursued?
Also, what is the Standard variation?
I thank you all in advance for any information.

The terminology the A.H. Fox Gun Co. used for their Sterlingworths were --
Trap -- 32-inch barrels
Standard -- 30-inch barrels
Field -- 28-inch barrels
Brush -- 26-inch barrels.
Regular drop-at-heel for "Trap" and "Standard" Sterlingworths was 2 3/4 inches, while the drop-at-heel for "Field" and "Brush" was 3-inches. After the move to Utica 2 3/4 inch drop-at-heel was normal for all models.
