Alan sent me some pictures of his gun that was discussed in a previous thread, and letters as being shipped in June 1933 to Abercrombie & Fitch. Sure looks like a 1938 or later gun to me!?!
Thanks for posting the pics....I was interested in seeing it too. I dont recall seeing a higher numbered 20ga. I was curious if it was a drawbolt gun but it doesnt look to be.
Alan, thanks for sharing it with us.

IN GOD WE TRUST. SPE Skeet & Uplands and AH Fox vent rib guns a specialty
I've never seen a "drawbolt" gun in anything but 12-gauge. So far I have them in three bunches -- 133xxx range, 143xxx range, and then at the very end in the 1615xx range.
I've seen and recorded flat-sided SP-frame Fox-Sterlingworths in both 12- and 16-gauges. I've had people tell me "I use to have a Drawbolt 16-gauge" or some such, but I've never seen pictures or an actual gun. Would love to. Always willing to learn.
I just visited the Griffin and Howe web site and checked the number "271104" against their A&F list of Fox guns, and yes they do have that number in their books. Not sure if it's worth 50 bucks to the current owner to get a research letter of the gun to see when, where, who, etc. details of the gun, but would be interesting to learn that info.
Jolly,
This is the one that you told me about on the thread below this one. I'm not going to spent $50.00 to find out from them. I am going to get two more of my SW lettered, however. I'll make a copy of the letter and ask MR. Callahan to recheck to see if it could be an error??? When ever and what ever I find out I'll post the findings.
Thx,
Alan
Got more info. from "JTC" yesterday. This time he sent me a copy of the factory card. I sent it to the "Researcher" so he can post it if he likes. It shows on the card Jun. 1933.
Thx,
Alan
