OMG! . . . it appears that once upon a time a previous owner had a Browning Citori with a forend he liked and then held a gun to a stockmakers head and told him to duplicate it. :wink:

I am in the middle of a Parker pigeon gun project, a Parker that had "that forend" in it when I received it.

Maybe, just maybe, the deep beavertail was to raise the sighting plane.
