Sterlingworth 20 gauge, 30", Ejectors

Post by 2lo8s »

Hello, first post.
How common or uncommon is a 20 gauge Sterlingworth with 30 inch barrels?
How much does it up the rarity ante if you throw in ejectors?
I'll have much more vital information including images in the next day or so, however, assuming a very nice state of preservation (50 to 75% case colors) with unmolested barrels and wood, would anyone venture a guess as to a value range.

Thank you.

Pictures and barrel measurements will tell us a lot more as far as estimating worth. If it is indeed as nice as you say it is, I'd say start at $2,500 and go north to $3,500 (maybe more). 30" SW ejector's are a pretty hard nut to crack. Actually any small bore ejector with 30" barrels is pretty hard to find IMO.

A 20-ga. Sterlingworth Ejector with 30" barrels is certainly uncommon--if not rare, I have only come across two of them in about a decade or so of seeking them out. The two examples that I've seen both have 4-weight barrels--which probably makes them even more unique. I have seen many more 20-ga. 30" graded ejector guns than Sterlingworths.

Value is whatever you're willing to pay, but I would say that in the condition you've described something north of two grand and if it were tagged at three, four or five grand that wouldn't surprise me either.
