Sometimes I think those folks are burning a fat one while perusing the upper limits of hopeful pricing on Gunbroker to come up with those prices. Just curious, how do they know that it's one of only 35 made? A Callahan letter or a note from the guy that sold it to them?

According to the table in McIntosh's book, produced by Roe Clark, there were 34 20-gauge SP-/SPE-Grade Skeet & Upland Game Guns made. From that I'd think there would be more than 35 20-gauge Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Guns?!? I have recorded five 20-gauge Fox-Sterlingworth S&UGGs, three in the 2625xx range and two in the 2703xx -- 2704xx range.

I'll see you Virginia guys at the Orvis scratch and dent sale in December. This is the sale where "70% OFF" means it may be somewhere near looking at. "50% OFF" means still off the scale. I'm sure our friend "Researcher" misses these sales since he moved out West.

My nearest Orvis here was in Coeur d'Alene, and it went belly up in the poor economy, not that it ever got any of my money. Northwest Pony Express, a gunshop with pretensions to be upscale, is in the old Orvis site now.
