Blued Floor-Plate

Post by Jay »

Hello,

The case colors are just about gone on 16 GA SW, but the floor-plate retains bluing. Is this original? I suspect it is not, but I have seen some others that were similarly blued. Thanks.

While anything is possible, I doubt that a trigger plate of a Sterlingworth would have left the factory anything but case colored. The Sterlingworth was a "stock" gun made to "stock" specifications, and the factory really discouraged deviations. It didn't take much in the way of an extra-cost deviation on a Sterlingworth to drive it into the price of an A-Grade where customer specs were part of the deal.

Makes sense, but I examined another Philadelphia 16 SW shortly after buying mine, and there was the same blued trigger-plate. Just seemed like quite the coincidence. Thanks for your response.
