Filling the keel

what techniques do you use to fill the keel?
steel wool packing?
fitted pieces
at what point do you fit pieces and fill around them?

That is really an interesting shot of the muzzles, Frank. Of note to me, though, is the difference in wall thickness in the muzzles. Particularly the difference between the area adjacent to the top rib and the area 180 degrees opposite it. Eye opening just how much metal was removed in differing areas due to striking.
