Howdy,
I have a Fox Sterlingworth in 16ga , serial #371xxx .... It is missing the piece that fits in the center between the barrels when you break it open that lifts the shells from their seated position. I do not know if it is an extractor or an ejector as I am not very knowledgeable about these shotguns. I need to get one for it.
I was also wondering if you could help me with the age - date of manufacture of this gun.
thanks,
Bob

Bob, By the ser.# of your gun, it was built in 1935. Check the bottom, exterior of the fore end and see if it has a steel insert about the size of a dime. That would indicate that it is an ejector model. If not, then it will be the more common extractor type. In either case, I would suspect that you are also missing some other parts as well. Fred
Recoil is most noticed when I miss

Thanks so much for the reply and info. Here are the pics .... I guess I have an ejector model, 16 ga, 1935.
If you can, please tell me what else I might be missing ... The person I bought it from said just the one piece was missing.

thanks,
Bob

Re: Need info-advice-part for 16 ga Sterlingworth
I hate to break the bad news but a set of ejectors for a 16 gauge is going to be EXTREMELY hard to find. A set of 20 gauge ejectors can be modified to fit with some significant effort but again they will be similarly difficult to locate. If you do some additional pics a good assessment can be made as to what other parts it might need, and what might be done to make your Fox functional again. Pics needed: 1) underside of the forend, 2) the forend knuckle (part of the forend that fits against the frame), 3) underside of the barrel assembly, back end. Silvers

The only part missing is the ejectors which fit in the picture above.
