Wood to metal looks good. The walnut stands a bit proud of the steel surface, I suspect for future refinishing. I don't know about you but I like that idea. I have no illusions that I will out live any of my Fox guns. I'm just a caretaker at the present time.

I'm guessing that will outlast many owners. Also something about having a gun made to your specs and also getting it made so it fits like a glove. I'm guessing that is the case with that gun. What's the going price on those now, $15,000 or higher?

Gentlemen:

I have $15,500 in the gun, but they are more expensive now. Based on their website listed prices the gun with options would now cost $18,650. The wood is slightly proud to the frame, but it is intentional. It is exactly the same everywhere the wood and metal meet, as was suggested, to allow for refinishing during the gun's long life. The finish work on this gun is exceptional and the engraving is far better than the pictures are able to replicate.

My CSMC XE is also proud as is every CSMC Fox I have seen. You have a very nice gun with the fit and finish you would expect from Galzan.

It is easy to pick apart a gun when it is not in hand and I suspect the post did not take into acount how many stockers do a proper wood to metal fit.

Here is another CSMC Fox with proud wood to metal ………..they are built that way intentionally.
