There is a 20 gauge A.H. Fox for sale at RAI.
It lists a 25 inch barrel.
I do not think that is a standard barrel length.
Could it have been sent from the factory that way?
Is it a gun I should stay away from?
Thanks
Joe

I would assume it is cut. However 25" GRADED guns are known but VERY few exist with factory original 25" barrels. The only way to tell for sure is obtain a letter from Mr. Callahan. http://foxcollectors.com/factory_letters.htm
A good indicator of cut barrels is the absence of the "keys" embedded in the solder at the end of the barrels.

Joe, The Fox was NIB but was probably made in the 1930's. I saw it at the Ohio Gun Collectors show about ten years ago.I believe Bob Peterson had it for sell. I should have bought it,but I was on a quest for a model 21 at the time.

It wouldn't make a lot of difference. Fox muzzles don't always touch even if original and cut guns sometimes have touching muzzles. The letter is the only way to document a 25" Fox. Is there some reason that a gun that has been bought and sold probably more than once in the last ten years is not accompanied by a letter?
