Weight of bbls on grade A Fox 16ga?

I have looked all over the water table for the bbl weight of my 1918 Fox grade A 16ga? Were they not marked that early or is no marking a sign in itself? Cf

First, the weight stamps are not on the water table but are on the barrels. That being said, The weight markings were often struck off during the fitting stages of production.

Try weighing them. Use the matrix in the Fox book to deduce which weight you have.

IMHO if Roe had just ignored those barrel weight charts and they had never seen the light of day we'd have been better off. What difference does it make what weight tubes the worker at North 18th Street started with? It is what he ended up with that counts.

I wish I could give you more thumbs up Dave. I believe that those stamps were for the smith building the gun and not the end user.
