Little walk in the woods.

Post by vaturkey »

No gun in hand although today was the last day of rabbit season in Virginia. Accordingly it's one of the last times to get out with dogs on public land. Can still take the dogs out for a run until March 10th because Crow season is in.

Anyway took both dogs out, but only Annie found something to point. Two big females Woodcock. Took a couple of pics.

Great pictures Tom. It figures you would find woodcock after the season closed.
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

Thanks all. She really handles great. A very biddable pup. She learns more everytime she gets on birds. Good memory.

Annie looks like a keeper Tom.

Back at it today. Not a Woodcock found for 90 minutes and then in probably 15 minutes I found a dozen. They were skittish as he'll and flushing like popcorn. Little Annie lost her cool and pumped a few. Sophie with slower footspeed handled them better. PS. Some of the birds were getting up when the dogs were 10 yards away. Still fun.
