Slow Start

It was a slow start for our duck season, but I finally connected with a mallard.

Looks like a corn-fed mallet Steggy or a resident from the local park feasting on tossed Wonder Bread!! Now into the freezer for that 7-year tenderization period!!
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

I suspect that some of residents on this particular lake do in fact feed ducks. However, I try to target the truly wild ones. 😁

Nice gun Jeff, surprised it was a slow opener, we were in Petoskey and had weather only a duck would love.

Yes, the weather was cool and wet. There were a few local mallards milling about, but none of the divers (ring necks and redheads) that we normally see.
