Long firing pin

Post by THT »

I have a 12 gauge Philly A-grade and noticed that the left barrel firing pin has been hanging on the primer when I open the gun. Upon examination, the left pin is noticeably longer than the right. Is this something easily fixed? Gunsmith recommendations for eastern upstate NY area?

Thanks!

I see that you've posted on the Member forums in the past. Thanks for joining up. The "firing pin" is the tip of the hammer and while that can be shortened I suggest you first try using shells with Remington or Fiocchi primers. Cheddite primers can also make for easier opening but will often pierce with longish firing tips. Worth a try anyway. frank
