Ejector issue
Occasionally, the right ejector for a late B grade fails to eject. The trip blades look good, but it also looks like the right side ejector hammer sear notch is worn (see pic). I mic'd them, and indeed the face of the right sear is .01" (.13" vs .12" appx) shorter than the left, and the lower edge that engages the trip blade is .01" higher up. Is this the probable cause? If so, short of some sort of micro welding, I think it's something I have to live with.

Re: Ejector issue
Wish I could help, but that’s out of my wheel house. If you only shoot occasionally, I suppose you could live with it.

Re: Ejector issue
Ejector parts were hand fitted and there are usually minor differences in measurements from side to side.
That’s a fairly common/intermittent problem I’ve seen and just offhand I can think of five possible causes, some easier to fix than others that can be very elusive. It’s not really possible to troubleshoot without the gun in hand. If I were going to the Southern SxS (I am not) I could do that and bring parts and tools to probably fix on site. Also I don’t have a FFL to accept guns for gunsmithing so that’s not an option. Your best bet is to send the gun to a proven Foxsmith who knows the Russell Patent ejector system.
PS to Jeff; you’ll remember the Fox SBT that had the same issue while at the Northern SxS and how easy that particular one was to fix on a truck tailgate.

Yes, I remember that you easily fixed it, using a high degree of finesse. Nice touch, and once again, thanks.Silvers wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 3:45 pm Ejector parts were hand fitted and there are usually minor differences in measurements from side to side.
