Ejectors back to extractors

Post by MC1952 »

I have a nice 20 ga AE being restocked. While it’s out I was thinking of having it converted to extractors rather than ejectors. Is this feasible?
I much prefer extractor guns when hunting.

The easiest way to go about it in in a fox is to just remove the parts from the frond for the ejectors. All else will work as it should for an extractor gun. You could have the gun stocked for the ejectors and then remove the parts after that.

That’s what I thought. Is that something I could do by myself?

You should be able to with basic tools, but then again, I do not know your ability with said basic tools. If you want it done, ask the stock maker to remove the parts. There is no reason he would not be capable. If he isn't, then he has no business stocking your gun.

Thanks Brian. I sent it to the stock maker with the Savage barrels and both forends. I’m going to leave those as ejectors. I kept the Philly barrels at home and those are the ones I want to convert.
