Reggie thanks that is amazing! Good for those involved in the transaction. Fox guns are on par price wise with even Parkers, nice to see.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it sold so soon at a “ hefty” price!

It would be interesting to know how many Fox collectors also own Parkers. John

Craig,
The old girl looks great. My twin, is at the Smiths to get freshened up as well so no pics are available, but will certainly come October when we hit the uplands together. The matte spar varnish you used? Epifanes? Probably the best stuff on the market. I used it on the wood/canvas canoes I restore.

I do. I've a love affair with small bore, long barreled doubles (12 ga. 32" guns, too, for that matter.

). They are heaven on a dove field, which is my first love in bird hunting. I have 32" 16s, but didn't have a 20. About a year and a half ago I had the opportunity to buy a Parker DHE two gauge set, 16 and 20. Both sets are 32". It is not here at the moment, but is away having the triggers lightened. They were way too heavy for me. I managed to kill a few limits with it before taking it to Mr. Kelly for the work, but it was a struggle.

Stan, thanks for your reply. You were lucky to find such an uncommon gun. I bet it will be a joy to shoot after it’s tuneup.

That combo sounds nice Stan. Like you, I can overcome many things stock-wise on a shotgun, but good trigger pulls are a MUST. The other thing that bugs me are large front beads. I know you are not supposed to look at them, and I don't, but they are there and the smaller the better.
Dove shooting rules!

I am the proud owner of a 16 ga. DA. Love it! Also have a 1895 12 ga. with Damascus barrels. Nice guns.

I've got WAY too many Parkers, mostly 20's and 28's, with a bunch of 12's and a few hammer but not enough Lefever, Ithaca or Fox. I still have time.

Nice find Craig. The "hunt" is everything. I found a second generation AE 20 a few years ago that I still haven't taken any pictures of. Thanks for reminding me.
