How about somebody else besides me investigate the feasibility of a "like" modification and present the BOD's with a proposal and cost estimate??

Craig that's a good summary of your intrinsic values and I've tried to give you positive feedback on your efforts ever since we started the Association, something like 14 years ago. However there's one "pat on the back" that's in the Admin role that wasn't mentioned. That's being the front person for citizens writing to the Association (superfoxcollector email addy) after they found great grandpa's Fox in the attic, had one walk into the shop, etc etc. And that can lead to the Admin and/or his cohorts getting first dibs on good Foxes behind the scenes so-to-speak. I don't have a problem with that and actually I think that's equitable compensation for the hours of support. But it's worth mentioning as regards getting satisfaction in the Admin role.

Also let's remember that there's great diversity here and not all think alike, and that's OK. If someone goes out of his way to help, educate or even entertain, who's to say they should dare expect recognition in some fashion if even for a simple thank you or a thumbs up emoji if that's possible as a site improvement?

Adding a "like" button is way beyond my skills. If any member with a programing background or is in the software business would like to take on the project I would gladly assist. I'm aware people are different and have different needs and I'm not trying to stonewall this modification (I think it would be a great mod) but it's beyond my capabilities. I just don't have the spare time to make a commitment to such a time consuming project.
Frank you are correct there are benefits to being a Fox Director like the free set of records we all receive. Directors or members that work shoots/shows receive $200 per day to cover expenses.
I have purchased four guns from individuals asking for information in 14 years and directed one person interested in selling to a friend and Life member of the AHFCA. I answer hundreds of inquiries ever year, 99% are asking for information about inherited guns. Believe me I'm not bitching about being a Director but I'm not doing it for the compensation.

Well, I think all of the BOD, both past and present, have donated a lot of their personal time for our enjoyment. Thanks! In return, I’ll try to be a good member. Unfortunately, at this time I lack the skills to write a good technical article. Maybe someday……

One thing I have noticed regarding guys commenting is if they are not 100% correct with their reply they do get beat up by some members. That is not just a Fox issue, that happens on other collector sites too. Same goes for selling guns on these sites. Most guns are not 100% collector guns and are not advertised as such. I have personally posted for sale items for other SxS guys that don't use computers and had guys very interested until someone chimes in that this or that doesn't look original or something was refinished. As long as the guns is solid and looks nice what does it matter? All those comments do is drive buyers away from good guns. A gun can be "SPF" until a comment is made detracting from the gun. Then it's back on the block and guys think there is something wrong with it. That's my pet peeve. (mic drop)

Mike: One thing that could be done is the Forum Admin could lock the topic for all for sale ads so no one could make comments. All communications between the buyer and seller would be by e-mail, telephone or PM. The seller would have to contact the Forum Admin. after the gun is sold to delete the post. Craig

I like that idea. There is a Vaguntraders site that does the same thing. You cannot respond to the sellers on line. All communication is done via PM. The only folks who can respond to the original post is either the seller or the moderator. Keeps a lot of sort of crazy comments from being posted. They really need to do something like that on the doublegunshop for sale sight. Every gun that gets posted seems to get sniped at and it gets real ugly real quick.

Tom: In our forum only the Admin can lock and unlock a topic. So if the poster of the for sale ad needed to add additional information they would need to contact the Admin to unlock and re lock after the topic was modified. Craig

The Classic Fly Rod forum uses this method. The seller places an ad and no comments can be made. Also their ads only stay up so many days and then they are gone. It keeps the "for sale" section very neat and tidy in my opinion.
