Here are some pictures of a very nice 12 ga I recently purchased from a friend/member. Tried to capture the excellent case colors but pretty cloudy here today. Not bad wood for an A grade. Specs are: WT-7 lbs 7 oz, barrels are 30", 3 lbs 8 oz, RT-.720/.016 LT-.720/.030, LOP-14 1/8, DAC-1 5/8, DAH-2 7/8. I truly love the 16s & 20s but this sweetie has won my affection. Mike
It's would be hard to find a better one Mike. Inletting, colors, screw slots all look good and a nice stick of wood to boot. That choke combo is excellent for whatever gets up in front of you. What else would you want? I like those tight bores. Congrats on the find. Frank
Nice looking gun Mike I bet it gets a lot of looks at the traps. Is the 14 1/8 LOP with or without the kickpad? I am looking at a BE grade that is 14 1/8 with a non oregnial kick pad. I guess the question is has the stock been cut if the gun is 14 1/8 with a non oregnial kick pad? Donnie
Thanks Donnie. She (Ethel) always get's a lot of looks & nice comments. These early As are great guns & if you can find one with better wood that only makes it sweeter.
The 14 1/8 includes the Hawkins pad. The stock has probably been cut but that does not bother me with this gun. If the BE you are looking at does not letter with the pad & 14 1/8 LOP then I'd think it has been cut also, but it could be original also.
I would not let this keep me from buying an otherwise great BE, especially if it was a 16 ga.
