FOR SALE table at the Northeast Classic?

As previously communicated the FOR SALE table was a prototype at the NE Classic shoot. We are asking for feedback from those who were there last weekend. We do know one member sold two guns through the table and he was happy with the table concept. We would appreciate feedback from other participants.

Of course I like the sale table. There was plenty of room and I had a Fox and three others. Sold a L C Smith Specialty grade and a NID Ithaca Super Ten. Frank

A great concept and benefit to members. Be nice to be able to continue that feature if table space is available and it seems that is the case.

And it worked fine for a couple of our members that took advantage of it. Where else can you get that kind of exposure.

The whole event was a very positive experience for me and I would like to sincerely thank those that made it work so well.

I bought Frank's LC specialty grade and think I got the buy of the show. Please continue the sale table. I'll be there early next year also. Dick Baum

An interesting tale on the Specialty. I had it on one of the on-line auction sites for 5-6 cycles. Extensive pics and a detailed writeup. That was about 1 month before the Southern Side by Side in NC. I thought it would go quickly..... maybe show up in the hands of a L C Smith Challenge team member. All I got were low ball bids and tire kickers. One fellow sent me a list of 23 questions to reply to. I declined; too much effort to reply and most of them were already answered in my writeup. I found out later he'd copied some tips on things to look for when inspecting a gun in a shop. Two gents wanted to trade me modern guns. I had 3-4 emails from folks wanting to make a private deal and cheat the on-line auction site. One person asked me to take and send plenty of macro pics, and afterwards I never heard back from him. Not even: thank you but I'll pass.

I took the Specialty to the NE SxS, put a writeup on the table, and the gun was committed a few hours later. Transfer was full legal. This past Wednesday I went shooting with my buds and told Ed the gun he called the "magic gun" was gone. Seems I couldn't miss with it the several times I had it out on the course. He told me I was nuts to sell it. Frank

Not to hijack the thread, but I've always wondered why people do that. I've advertised a few guns - nothing special, just good shooters- and had folks ask for extensive pix and info, etc. and then never respond. From the basic pix and write-up, you pretty much know what you're gonna get. And, you'd think you'd at least get a "thanks but no thanks" and maybe a reason.
