Found in the tent at Hidden Hollow

Post by Silvers »

Well so far with only 3 vendors unloaded I've seen 4 Sterlingworths (two nice smallbores) and three decent early A grades. Also saw a DE which Scott and I evaluated for another Fox member and good friend. Also saw this weird Fox contraption, one of two with the same vendor. I wonder what tomorrow will bring? Frank

Weather report says rain in the area tomorrow(Fri); is that true? I should be there around noon or so.

Wonder how that "Fox contraption" would perform off Venice , LA trolling the oil rigs? Maybe a wahoo, king, yellowfin tuna or lemon fish? Might need to carry a Fox SxS just in case a big shark wanted to play. Better shoot those boys in the head before you boat them!

That 250 Yd Free Spool seems to be the most common Fox reel. I paid way too much for a couple early on in my collecting career. They show up on ebay fairly regularly and usually go for $20 to $30. The 300 yd and the star-drag models are seen less frequently. Likewise the freshwater bait casters. There are many reels in the Fox Reels Catalogue I've never seen.

Frank, I hope you bought the "National Field Trial Champions" book by Brown. What was the asking price?

Bill, I didn't get a price on the book. I'll find out tomorrow if it's still there. Frank

Frank, sorry I had to leave today, but finally made it to MA. You sure put together a fun and challenging course for the Bo-Whoop. And I can atest a true pair double is possible! Very nice, Scott

Scott, good to hear you arrived safely and I hope you enjoy the special day tomorrow. Thanks for all your help. Also for the challenge coin. Not sure I'll put it in my shower shoes but I'll be prepared otherwise! :D Hey, I had a chance to shoot Don's 32" Super 20 gauge at the B-W after you left. Sweet! Frank

Bill et al., the book was still there as of this am and the vendor said he'd take $300.00 for it. I'm totally out of my element on NB books and don't know if that's a good price or not. If any member is interested send me a PM and I can get you the vendor's name and contact info. I have no personal interest in the sale of this book, just replying to the question. Frank
