I'm wondering about the locations of a few dealers I'm finding very often in the Fox records.
Francisco-Reboro-Hijos
Martin Kohn

The first one certainly sounds like it might be Latin America or Spain. The other two ordered staggering numbers of 28-inch barrel 16-gauge guns with swivels.

Googled this up. Could this be your "Martin Kohn"? Also see that "Animal Farm" was written by a Martin Kohn. Mike.
Organization Description: Founded by Max Hochschild, Benno Kohn, and Louis B. Kohn (his brother) in a store at the corner of Howard and Lexington Streets in downtown Baltimore. The company prospered and expanded to a building at 208 N. Howard Street. By the time the company incorporated in 1922, Hochschild, Kohn was Baltimore’s largest department store. Eventually the business purchased most of the block at Howard, Franklin, Park, and Center Streets in 1923, though the business suffered after the retirement of Max Hochschild and Benno Kohn’s death (in 1929), and they abandoned some of this property. During the 1930s the business was managed by Irving Kohn (president) and Walter Sondheim and Walter Kohn (vice presidents).
The business particularly suffered during the Depression; it lost more in sales percentages than the aggregate sales lost by other Baltimore stores. They also suffered by discord between Irving and Walter Kohn. When Walter Kohn retired in 1935 he was replaced by Martin Kohn, who became president of the store during the 1940s as a result of the retirement of Walter Sondheim and the death of Irving Kohn. Martin Kohn pioneered the suburban expansion of the store. Hochschild, Kohn went out of business in 1983.

Does anyone have a list of cities, states of the retailers? Based on my Callahan letter my Fox has a build date of Oct 19, 1297 and was shipped to Standardt Bros, Inc. I found a turn of the century bicycle manufacturer in Detroit, MI who were named Standardt Bros. And another web thread where the Standardt Bros made a cash donation to the Jacksonville, FL yellow fever epidemic of 1874. I purchased my Fox directly from the original owner's granddaughter, who said that her grandfather lived in the greater Chicago area. I don't know if the Standardt Bros operated out of Chicago too. Or whether they handled sporting goods. I appreciate your time and knowledge in replying to my post.

That is too late for Johnson's Illinois Gunsmiths which I have. You may want to check with Michael Petrov as that would be within his time frame of research. He has knowledge of quit a few Chicago based gunsmiths.
