I have wanted a CSM Fox 20 ga. CE for a long time. I have looked and looked and very rarely have I seen a used CSM Fox available.
IMHO, this speaks highly of the guns and their quality manufacture. You see a fair amount of used CSM 21's, Parker Repros, etc out there for sale. but darn few CSM Foxes.
Can anyone offer an opinion or judgement as to hwy they think this is?. I have handled some but never hunted or shot one.
Just seems unusual that they are so conspicuous in their absence. Speaks volumes dont you think?
I am going to post this on BBS also for the "non believers" to exppound upon.
Researcher, dont you have a CSM Fox? your opinion??

I believe the reason they are seldom encountered on the secondary market is because they are a custom gun, built to fit the original purchaser. This purchaser ordered his dream gun to his specs just the way he wanted it and therefore is reluctant to give it up. CSMC Foxes have only been around for what--15 years or so? Their owners will eventually pass on and then they'll become available. Until then, if you you can't wait, you'll have to order one new from Tony or create your own custom from an original Fox by upgrading.

Ditto Bamboozler. "Bespoke" guns often don't go on the block until the next generation inherits them.
FWIW, there are usually a few pre-owned guns on Galazan's website; they currently have a CE20 for $14.5K.
Back in Feb, an outfit called Demmings had a DE20 on Gunsamerica for $14.5K.

Beware the man with one gun...he likely will bore you to death in others ways, too.
Crosnoe had a CSM C/CE grade 20 that slowly dropped in price over 12-18 months. I believe it bottomed out around $8K or less before it sold. It was an early gun. He has a 2 barrel 16/20 XE for $15.5K right now. I don't think that people are willing to sell for a loss when buyers have the option to 'design' their own new gun for a 'few dollars more'. As long as they keep building them, it's like a used car market.

Crosnoe Fox 20
I saw that CE 20 he had. It was tempting but I want POW grip and that was full capped pistol. And it was early one but it was nice and I could have forced myself to own it but I got deployed instead. Maybe that was a sign. !!

I had an FE made a few years ago with 16 and 20 gauge barrels and love that gun. I would never sell, but might consider a trade for a new Purdy or H&H for a straight up trade.
My 16 has 30" bbls and a 15 3/4" lop and it still only weighs 6 lbs 5 ozs. It was a pleasure to carry on the prarie last year in SD. It is extremely well made.
