Last Known Serial Number of A.H. Fox Grade BE 12-Gauge?
It is my understanding that production of AH Fox BE grade guns in Philadelphia ended in 1919. The table of Fox serial numbers on Doublegunshop.com indicates that for 12-gauge guns in Grades A to F the serial numbers for 1919 began at 25000 and for 1920 began at 25900. Is the serial number of the last gun of this line known; or if not, the the serial number of the last gun known to exist? Is the total number of late model BE guns produced with 4th generation engraving know?

606 late style 12ga B's were made based on a count of the factory cards. I wrote an article for the NL many years back about the 12ga B.

I don’t know when the last BE was made, but as a point of reference, #30003 was sold on March 28, 1924 and shipped May 19, 1924 (according to the letter and mentioned in the Spring 2022 Newsletter). If my memory is correct, I think “Researcher” has mentioned later BE’s.

I don't know if it was the last one or not, but 31041, the July 2019 Card of the Month, was a B-Grade, 32-inch, half pistol grip gun.

I would put little to no faith in that serial number chronology done by Lightner Library back in 1976. It is poor in the A.H. Fox Gun Co. years and totally useless in the Savage years. The table of Fox serial numbers on Doublegunshop.com indicates that for 12-gauge guns in Grades A to F the serial numbers for 1919 began at 25000 and for 1920 began at 25900.
