Fox AE 20 Gauge with a checkered butt
I recently saw a Fox AE 20 gauge with a straight grip stock and a checkered butt, and it had a Miller Single Trigger. Could this configuration be factory? Or most likely aftermarket? Its a Philly gun. Thanks, Steve

Re: Fox AE 20 Gauge with a checkered butt
Way less than 10% of A-/AE-Grades started life with a straight grip. I don't recall ever seeing a production card for an A-/AE-Grade that requested a checkered butt but there certainly could be. I know I've seen a request for the skeleton steel butt. A couple of good pictures and we should be able to tell.
The Miller trigger is definitely after market.

I attempted to upload pictures of the gun but apparently the auction site has them blocked. If I may, and if this is not allowed please let me know, it is being sold at the present online timed auction of Rock Island Auction company; https://www.rockislandauction.com/detai ... ge-shotgun

Steve, that’s a nice looking gun and you have plenty of time left. If you’re seriously interested in the gun, then you may want to consider ordering a card.
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

Thanks Jeff, I am not going to be a player in this auction, I am just trying to learn more about Fox guns.

That's not what the card says.
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

Would make a nice hunting/shooting gun. Appears to be non-original checkering pattern and stock. Wish RIAC would state stock dimensions for those interested. 2 3/4” chambers to boot!

That has to be the same gun, good eye. Checkering on the stock matches to a "T". Sold at auction for $3851 I believe.

When it got to GI, it turned into a 12 gauge not hawked by Pat McKune, but by Lombardi. I guess that's the one being discussed? No, I guess not.
