Opening day with the 28" DE

Post by fox-admin »

Nice opening day, difficult conditions due to a drought in western NY. Lots of woodies. First blood with the DE

Congratulations on a very successful hunt, and that sure is a beautiful gun. I really like the checkering, especially on the forearm. Just out of curiosity, did you use any wood duck decoys? I always set out a half dozen close to the shore, and I bought a new wood duck call while at the Southern. I hope to see a few next week. Season opens in my area on the 18th. Happy hunting!

I do use wood duck decoys. The spot I was hunting had open water the size of a large puddle!! The birds landed on top of the decoys LOL. We are in a severe drought.
The DE was the perfect gun 28" IC/F with handloaded 5's. I hunted with my son Doug who shot his CE 12ga Fox.

Looked like a great day with your son and a great day for the Foxes. That D is stunning. You are blessed, water or not.
