I picked the late MI Turkey season for this Spring which runs from May 3rd - 31st. Today was the first opportunity to hunt. Quiet morning w/no gobbling on the farm I’m hunting or the state land it butts up to. Still can’t complain. We had a bunch of needed rain yesterday so the sunny damp woods was full of every bird calling you can think of (except turkey!). There is a small lake on the farm and the geese and ducks have been busy and noisy all morning. Hopefully after hens feed and go back to nesting I’ll be able to pull a Tom my way! In the interim just taking in the glorious morning!

It really doesn't get any better than that does it?
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.
Re: Beautiful Morning in the Turkey Woods!
We are fortunate enough to have our own small (c. 10-11 birds) flock of wild turkeys right here in the wild suburbs of NOVA, I notice that every time it rains, they emerge from the safety of the woods onto the open lawn area to feed immediately as the rain stops. Sometimes (I guess when they're hungry enough) they actually come out as the rain dwindles to a very light drizzle or mist. Fascinating nature! Kevin
