Buffalo Brand shotgun shells Philly
Got these years ago at an auction. Never heard of them and internet searches reveal nothing. Anyone have a clue. PS. Box is full and paper hulls.

Don't know for sure, but I suspect a good bet is they are shells loaded by Federal for Tryon - Supplee - Biddle, just like Federal did for Sears and Wards --

Buffalo Brand was E.K. Tryon’s in house brand for Sporting Goods and some Hardware. No idea who manufactured the shells for them. Pretty cool!!

Tru-Sport was another "trade brand" used by Tryon as on this Red Head recoil pad --

About 2 years before "Eightbore" Bill Murphy, seminal Fox collector Peter Zinnsser, and I got exhibitors tables at the Old Baltimore Show (actually Timonium MD Fairgrounds 'Cow Palace' exhibition hall) tables, there was a man who had a tremendous display of E.K. Tryon memorabilia - I mean everything; sample guns, order book pages, bulk shot cabinets, advertising, shell bags, cartridge magazines, LOM cases, high-end oak & leather stuff, you name it. I think he had 3 full tables, a rarity for a vendor at that time (usual limit 2). This would have been c. 1997-98. He had a Tryon catalog display that would make you cry today - mostly mint condition original copies from their halcyon years in Philly. He was there for 2 years (maybe 3) after we first started to exhibit, then disappeared. I never found out if he died, just quit, or stopped doing shows altogether. I remember asking him "Where the hell do you find all this stuff?" He answered, "Everywhere, it is everywhere; you just have to be there when they get tired of looking at it and want to take it to the curb". Like Ron Willoughby's minty Parker "Clown" catalog that came out of an underwear drawer in the bedroom of a rural Maine farm house, and the magnificent 1923 A.H. Fox XE Grade 20 gauge "as found" in a second floor hall closet in a farm house in MO (Guyette & Deeter rated it the best they'd ever seen), they are out there! Happy Hunting, Kevin.

As I’ve said before half the fun is the hunt for the things we love!! Be it the guns, catalogs or other memorabilia!
The same for car collectors and other antique collectors! We all hope to find one of those mint clown catalogs or a 20 gauge XE!!
