Early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca Catalogs
Just came across a fantastic lot of early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca catalogs at a local auction and couldn’t pass it up! I’m thrilled to add some rare pieces to my collection. I’ll also have a few duplicates available soon for anyone looking to add to their own collection. Stay tuned!

Wow!! Nice selection.
That is only the second "Export Edition" A.H. Fox Gun Co. "Campfire" Catalog I've ever seen. I have the other. Mine is Catalogue No. 24 E on the title page. There is also a Catalogue No. 24 S, "Spanish Edition" known --

I love how they spell "FILADELFIA" on the Spanish edition. Nice find Jason.
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

Great selection. Wow the Export Catalog is very special. The Parker Pinecone with the grey cover is rarely seen. I hope the Parker Clown is original! I really enjoy my catalog collection and try to match all my guns to the catalog issued when the gun was made.

Re: Early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca Catalogs
Those wild and crazy Canadians are hoarding catalogs by the dozen. Is the Clown original or repro? That should be a $2000 catalog by now. Some of those Fox catalogs are probably in the same category, but I know little about their value. The Grey Pine Cone is not in mint condition. A rare find in any condition as Craig says. I have not been able to find a Grey Pine Cone in high condition.

Unfortunately not. I bought the lot for the Fox paper, and thought there was a small chance the Clown catalog was original. But for what I paid I'm not complaining.

Well Dave then this "Export Edition" would be the 3rd one known because now I have 2 of them. My other one is in tough condition.Researcher wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 2:55 pm Wow!! Nice selection.

Oh hell!! Those "Export Edition" catalogues are common as dirt! Wonder if Willoughby will give me a rebate?!?
As for the Clown Catalog the Cote' repros are signed and numbered on the inside of the back cover.

Re: Early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca Catalogs
While my Clown catalog is not signed or numbered on the back cover, it was my understanding the repro has no price stamp on inside front cover, no price list and nothing on outside back cover.

Re: Early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca Catalogs
For years I kept a list of gun catalogs I followed and some I bought on ebay. I pulled that up and see five Clown Catalogs that I followed, four said to be 1916 and one said to be 1913. They sold for $900 to $1601. One had a November 1916 price list in it.

Re: Early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca Catalogs
I remember years ago during setup for the Baltimore Show I strolled across the room to see Willoughby's display of paper. He had an original Clown in very good condition with a price of $2K on it. Knowing little about the paper trade from any maker, I asked him if "these kind of things really brought those kinds of prices?" He glanced at his watch and said, "The doors open in 15 minutes; that thing will be gone in a half an hour." I actually broke from my table at 9:20 and went to look, no more Clown! Kevin

Jason's reply on March 19 at 1:08 leads me to believe that he thinks his clown is a repro. Later posts make me think he has an original with rusty staples. What is the story, Jason?

Re: Early Fox, Parker, and Ithaca Catalogs
Dave, I have seen a catalog with the November 18, 1916 price list, absolutely identical to the Clown, but no clown cover. Is this a recognized catalog or is it a Clown catalog with the cover ripped off?
