2024 adoptees
I was very fortunate to add two very nice Foxes to my collection in 2024. A A grade 12 ga 30" with #1 weight barrels and choked .042/.042. I'm going to make it my go to duck gun for over decoys so I'm looking to open the chokes to .20/.030. Also' a XE 22xx 12ga heads down Fox with a full pistol. Its a spectacular gun in my opinion with great condition and very shootable dimensions.

Re: 2024 adoptees
Dave I'm working on it LOL. I have a line on a nice high grade Fox but three family members involved. First offer rejected, second offer should seal the deal. Fingers crossed, it should arrive before New Years if accepted. If it works my Christmas present to me.Researcher wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:47 am 2024 isn't over, there is still time for a Christmas present!!

Re: 2024 adoptees
I already got a Christmas present at a gun show last Saturday. Came across a honest original Parker VH 12 gauge VH 30" within a few minutes of walking in the door. A 1929 gun with excellent bores. It was hidden between several black guns and at a decent price. Then when I tried to break it to check the frame size and barrel weight number the barrels wouldn't come off while the hammers were cocked. Also I'd forgotten my choke gauge in the Toy and finally found a dime to check the chokes = I-Mod & Full. I didn't really need it but she's got a 1-1/2 frame and is relatively light; nice to find a good unmolested Parker or Fox etc. Tight on the face, lever right, crisp triggers, barrels ring, etc etc. I used the non-release barrel issue as a talking point and ended up buying it at a super low price. All told about 10 minutes after arriving. Afterwards while doing the show I had at least 20 dealers and walkers stop me asking to look and what I wanted for it . Got tired of that and finally went out to put it in the Toy. Then after getting home I freed up the barrel release mechanism in about 2 minutes. That issue is somewhat common with hammerless Parkers.
She'll be out hunting next week after deer ends, late season my favorite time for small game. frank

Frank good luck with the new Parker, you sound very excited about it. Sometimes the stars align but as you know it's not all luck. Years of study, following up on tips, keeping a sharp-eye on the auctions/internet all lead to some occasional nice buys. Merry Christmas.

No new SxS for me in 2024. It was new Briley tubes for my MX3, a few varmit caliber centerfires, a few now banned in MA“assault rifles”, and a few pistols.

Re: 2024 adoptees
Well said Craig on what it usually takes to find a good one and especially to evaluate while at a gun show and often with guys breathing over your shoulders and in a pounce mode.fox-admin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 4:59 pm Frank good luck with the new Parker, you sound very excited about it. I hope your high grade Fox deal works out. Also, Merry Christmas to you and to my Fox friends. frank

Re: 2024 adoptees
Very nice Craig. Does that say that the order must arrive by 11/01/13? Very interesting.
If my memory is correct, this gun is shorter and lighter than your pawn shop DE. Will you be using this gun for waterfowl, or do you have something else in mind?
