CE & DOVES

Post by J. A. Early »

The short Virginia season that is in the middle of the other two, around Thanksgiving is usually good. I normally go on Thanksgiving morning but it rained the first two hours so as to not get me, Mosby, and my 1910 CE wet I waited until it stopped raining. By then most doves had gone. Anyway the 12 gauge CE did take a few, five and one lost. This gun was originally modified and modified so I had the right barrel opened to .009 for close shots. Before you howl about that, it is not a pristine collector gun. I had to make it useful, which these chokes make it.

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving and your gun looks beautiful. Congrats! Someday I would like to dove hunt. It sounds like fun.
