Re: fox sterlingworth
Called today just to check on the selling price. It walked out the door at $1,600, and that gun had a few issues.JT65 wrote:What about the 16 sterlingworth that was just sold with ejectors, you have to be watching cabelas 24hrs in order to get a good gun.

The people in Lacy were very vage about the condition but they did say one set of barrels (the non engraved ones) had pitting on the outside and at least one of the forearms is split.

I think it is a good value I missed it the first time around and I am happy the first deal fell through. It has a few issues to address but it will be a shooter so I like the fact that it is not "perfect". They are hard to find in any grade with all the features, and the second barrel set is a nice bonus.
I will update when I receive it.

I received the gun and sent it back. Here are the issues that I found. The stock is pulled away by the trigger you can see it on the bottom picture, it is spongy. You can push it with your fingers. I can also see where it is pushing into the tang behind the safety, there must be alot of oil in it. The trigger guard has been braised where it screws into the receiver, if you look you can see that also in the bottom picture it is not a good job. The right barrel on the 26" set has been reamed (poorly) and has a Jug choke that is very thin at the muzzle. I did not mind the cosmetic issues, but the barrel and stock issues put it over the edge for me.
If any one is considering it please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
