I recently won an auction of a Fox Sterlingworth 12 gage with 28 inch barrels . The gun is in very used condition ( I do not have it yet ) but I was looking for a gun I could refurb and hunt. Are these guns generally a heavy gun ? I see info they are about 6-8 lbs . I plan to hunt upland birds with this gun . I cannot wait to see what I ended up with !! Lol Thank you all !

Welcome aboard.
A.H. Fox Gun Co. used four different weight barrels from 1 (heaviest) to 4 (lightest). I have a 28-inch 12-gauge with 3-weight barrels which weighs 7 pounds 2.5 ounces and one with 4-weight barrels which weighs 6 pounds 13.2 ounces.
