My First Fox - SBT J grade

Post by BobJ5 »

I stumbled across this gun at an estate auction and fell in love. I did some quick educating of myself and was lucky to bring it home. It appears the gun was placed in a gun sock inside a safe and had light rust spackled all over. I think this scared some bidders off.

Based on my research I believe the gun is 100% original. Butt pad is original, receiver colors are there, bluing is 95%, and stock is still at factory spec in terms of length. Stock is in very good condition minus light scuff and handling marks consistent with age. I don’t think it was shot a ton as it locks up very tight. I spent some time on the rust with oil and a frontier pad. Under bright light the spackled remnants are still there, but I’m unwilling to take it further without a pro doing it.

Needless to say I’m pleased. Thoughts?

Looks pretty darn nice. I wouldn't worry about those speckles.

You did good.

It is a slat wall system. There is one company out there that sells it specific to guns, but you can get it much cheaper if you order it from companies that market to general retail locations.
