Gents, I recently acquired an A.H. Fox J grade single barrel trap. It is a wonderful gun and a delight to shoot. My concern is that one of the posts on the rib has come loose from the barrel. My local gunsmith won't repair it for me he said call Arts gunsmithing in Missouri which I did but they have an 11 month back log. Any suggestions? I can continue to shoot it but would really like to have it fixed !
Thanks Jerry (ylwdog)

Re: Fox SBT
"Dog", contact Breck Gorman. He repaired the rib on my Fox J Grade SBT and did an outstanding job. I was shooting trap with it one day at our local club and noticed that the ivory bead at the muzzle was no longer there. Apparently the solder broke at the first rib stanchion (post), the one behind that, and the third one aft was loose. The first stanchion remained attached to the underside of the rib, but the second one was "free floating" between the rib and the barrel. Thank God I didn't lose it - they appear to be milled posts with multiple obtuse angles; you would have to mill new ones to replace. I gave Breck the barrel at the Southern SxS in April and had it back within 3 months and shooting again. He expertly touched up the bluing at the repair sites and installed a new "aged" ivory bead which looks terrific. I can't recommend him highly enough. He also resurrected the trashed out Wayne Junction Sterlingworth that I had brought back from the grave, but that is another lengthy post. Contact Breck at (804) 357 - 3404. He is in Beaufort, SC.
