Redhead recoil pad

Post by mc15426378 »

I recently picked up a brand new, in the box, Redhead pad off Ebay. The inventor of this pad was Alma K. Anderson. The $1.50 price sticker is from The Geo. Worthington Co. The seller also sent a copy of the patent drawing and letter, which I did not know came with the pad. Not a Noshoc, Jostam or Hawkins but a neat old pad. Evidently they made a No 1 and a No 2. Anyone know if these pads were supplied on any late 30s or later guns? Mike

My late HE has a Redhead pad on it. I haven't requested a letter to find out whether it may have been installed at the factory. The 1937 patent date is pretty late for my gun, but those late HE Grades probably laid around for awhile before being shipped out.

The Red Head is a great pad and it looks good on a few of the Foxes I have put them on. I feel they have just the right amount of give, not hard
but not squishy soft. I think I have seen a few late Foxes with them on that could be original but without a Factory letter it would be only speculation. Paul
