Re: The Ansley Cup
I realized this sounds trivial, but....I have seen "Bo Woop" spelled BoWhoop, Bo whoop, Bo Woop etc.. Since I'm putting together posters I just want to get it right before it goes live. Consensus please, our official spelling of "Bo Woop". Thanks everyone! RB
Just heard from Frank, it is Bo Whoop. Thanks!

Re: The Ansley Cup
I love your enthusiasm but I can think of 4 guys that own a Fox SBT that will be attending Hausmann's, one of the 4 never shoots. Kind of like saying you can only use a HE to win the BW. Before the development of SBT guns trap was shot with doubles, so why not allow them on the Letterman? Makes it open to more participants which I think is the whole point, encourage the use of Fox guns. Just my opinion.

Re: The Ansley Cup
I agree Craig. I think the WCL should be open to any makers Trap gun but this year it will remain a single barrel event due to the late hour. As far as I know, the game of singles and handicap trap are shot with two barreled guns as well as single barreled guns. The problem is what defines a trap gun? This is fodder for a future discussion and a possible poll on members opinions. Gotta roll for Ernie's now. See you there.
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

Re: The Ansley Cup
Just my opinions here but the same targets for the B-W Long Range event are also shot for the WCL Cup though from a different butt and with single birds "on call". At least that's the way it's been done from our WCL event inception. Now, if we allow double-trap guns with one shell for the WCL there's not going to be much difference between the WCL and the B-W. Let's remember that ANY maker double gun can win the B-W HOA thru 3rd place purses, and ANY maker vintage SBT gun can win the WCL HOA thru 3rd place purses. The distinction is that the High Fox (no matter what place) gets his/her name on the B-W or WCL trophy plaques. Personally I'd much rather try for good shooting recognition based on score, than my name on a plaque for a lower place but whilst shooting a Fox. Just my thinking fwiw.
Well anyway, I do think we should keep the WCL Cup for vintage SBT guns, period. There has to be a way to work around the comparative rarity of Fox SBT guns as compared with other makers. Let's also remember that the Fox SBT gun wasn't introduced until 1919 (after WW-1), and the earliest design blueprints I have are dated July 1914 which was well after Ansley left the AH Fox Gun Company. Net, I really doubt our hero had any involvement in the launch of the wonderful Fox SBT gun.
