16 Gauge Stock Restoration-Before -After
16 Gauge Stock Restoration-Before -After
I posted a question a few months ago about getting a 16 Gauge A grade stock fixed/refinished and was given a name to speak with, Mark Larson from Portland Oregon. I wanted to share the results of what Mark was able to do for my gun. The gun stock had been cut down for a child to use and then when they got older it was glued back together and a rubber pad added. I spoke to Mark about the repair and sent him my gun, it took about 2 months and the transformation is amazing, I could not be happier. Here are the before and after pictures. Thanks for the recommendation, I could not have done this without the help from this forum. Also thanks for letting me know it shoots 2 1/2 shells, it took a while to find them but luckily I got a case from Kent Gamebore in WV. Can't wait to shoot it.

Mark Larson did a great job on the stock of my 1908 CE.
Goodbye Mandy, once in a life time hunting dog. I miss you every day.

What a difference! The stock is like a Jekyll and Hyde. Enjoy.

The total cost was around 800, I had him add an additional spacer and butt plate and he did the checkering on the fore end... well worth it.

I would personally like to see nice crisp edges between the wood and buttplate. Not rounded over edges. And good straight comb and toe lines. But, maybe I am just picky...?
