XE butt plate
XE butt plate
Hey guys, I'm new here on the forum, I'm looking for a period correct butt plate for my Fox XE 12ga According to the copy of the letter I have , gun was made in 1930 and says it was ordered with a butt plate. this gun has a leather covered recoil pad on it. It measures 15 1/4 LOP from the front trigger, letter states LOP of 14 1/4 so the butt stock has not been shorten. Any assistance would be appreciate.

Re: XE butt plate
Twin ivory sights and a leather-faced Silvers recoil pad were standard for the XE-grade but occasionally a customer ordered one with a butt-plate. It would be the plain horizontally grooved plate with the rings around the screw holes. Like the four on the right --
Generally on the C- and higher grades the screws were engraved.
