30" Barrels and twin ivories
Would those of you that have Fox guns with 30" bbls. and documented original factory twin ivory beads installed, please measure the distance from the muzzle to the centerline of the mid-bead and post your findings here?
TIA,

All the foxes I own that have factory twin ivory beads have the mid-bead exactly 1/2 the length of the barrels. a 30"inch gun would have the center bead at 15" from muzzle or breech. I have seen letters on guns that specify a location that the customer wanted to have the center bead which varied from the norm. Paul

Thank you for your replies, I do have a letter ordered.
The gun in question has the mid-bead installed 14 1/8" from the muzzle. The seller represented the twin ivory beads as original to the gun. I asked specifically how he knew they were original and he replied that that he has seen several other Foxes with factory twin ivories and the location of the mid-bead on this gun was installed in the same location as those...I guess the letter will tell the tale

30" AE 12 gauge 1916 gun ordered "for Trap shooting" that letters with twin ivories, mid bead requested at 21-1/2" behind the muzzles. This is the scenario mentioned by Foxist in his reply.
30" very early B grade, too early for a letter but mid bead looks right, location is 12-5/8" back from the muzzles.
I know you asked about 30" barrels but FYI - 1909 Fox 32" CE that letters with twin beads, and its mid bead 15-1/8" behind the muzzles. No special notation on its location.
