Not sure how a dent like that could occur without some collateral evidence on the barrel.
Likely could be a factory fluke.
Very desirable shotgun.

Just my personal opinion, but I do not believe the rib left the Fox factory like that. No way I can believe that.

Nice specs on that gun from the card. Weight, chokes and bbl length will make that a very nice grouse gun. Someone knew what they were ordering.
