I've seen a handful of SPs and SPE. I swear none of them had SP, SPE, or the gun's gauge engraved anywhere on them.
Did I just miss it? Or was this something Savage/Fox did at one time?
And weren't SPs/SPEs introduced in the mid-to-late 1930s?

OWD,
Good point, some SP(E) grades are stamped on the watertable and some are not. I can not seem to find a "pattern" to explain why...this holds true on all 3 gauges based on the ones I own, have owned, handled and catalogued.
As a sideline, some of the receivers had A.H. Fox engraved on their sides and some are un-marked. Once again, I find no pattern.
The SP/SPE grade was introduced in 1932 and was listed until 1946 based on what I have read.
