Ken, are you far enough along to post a progress picture of Dewey's gun? When you have time, and Dewey gets some file time to spare, you will have one of mine in the hopper. It is past phase 1. For those interested, phase 1 is a confirmed plan, in writing, with copies, and disassembly. Bill Murphy

Mr. Bill --- Dewey already has it back at the shop. Sorry but didn't get any pictures, however, Dewey said he'd take a few. Looking forward to scratching a few lines for you. ken

That will be a very elegant finished gun. Next step, the oven? Murphy

Beautiful work, Gentlemen!

Dewey, as Bill asked, are you ready for coloring or
do you have further plans for the rib?

Yeah, Dewey, how did you make the pigeon rib. Did you file the original rib or add to the top? It doesn't seem like there is enough metal on the concave rib to do what you apparently have done.

Dewey has told me that the rib has no additional metal added and that he merely filed the concave rib flat. The contouring of the "Becker Shelf" makes the rib look higher than it actually is. I have asked Dewey to create a "pigeon rib" on my project gun. I have seen the gun but I still have a hard time believing that there is enough height in the rib to file it flat. I'll have to look at it again, I guess.

Thanks Bill, the finishes are as follows:
bbls- rust blue, pins- nitre blue, triggers and cocking indicators -gold plated, frame -French grey(which in this instance is case hardening with the colors removed)

Now I'm going to finish my breakfast and get back to chiseling on a certain boardmember's A grade frame.
