Endless Mtns. (PA) Side by Side Challenge, Sept 6 & 7

Post by Silvers »

FYI - the Endless Mountains Side by Side Challenge will be held at Hausmann's Hidden Hollow on Saturday Sept 6, and at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays on Sunday Sept. 7. Both venues are located about 1/2 hour apart in northeastern PA. It's fairly easy access to both clubs off I-81 and NY 17.

The Challenge would be an excellent warm up for the Vintage Cup. 200 targets will be thrown, 100 at each of the clubs. Both Hidden Hollow and Rock Mountain are well known for their excellent venues, quality of their targets and owner support of SxS shooting. RST will be sponsoring a "shell game", and lunch at both clubs is included in the Challenge entry. Trophies will be awarded for HOA (high- overall) and High Gun in 12 through 410 gauge.

Just a reminder the Hidden Hollow & Rock Mountain SxS shoot is coming up this weekend. Weather forecast looks fine. A hint of fall in the air. Time to dust off those double guns before the Vintage Cup and hunting seasons. Silvers

Some rain predicted for Saturday, depending on the forecast service you listen to. Hidden Hollow decided to open on Friday as well as Saturday for its part of the Endless Mountains SxS shoot. I spent a pleasant day at Hidden Hollow today and shot the course with Fox CA member Craig Bennett from the Lewisburg, PA area. Craig likes L C Smiths in addition to Foxes, and he's shot for the Smith team at the Parker-Smith Challenge at the Southern. Today Craig was shooting an early 32" Elsie. I used my 1916 Fox AE upgrade "Blondi" that's set up for sporting clays. I hope to see more Fox members at Hidden Hollow tomorrow. As Mom used to tell me "you won't melt if it rains". Frank

Frank, keep us up to date on the results and festivities. Sorry I couldn't attend. The weather must be very similar to the last shoot at Ernie's. Murphy
