I for one wouldn't want to limit the exchange of information here in any way.

I do think it would be good to have a tag such as member, life member added to the information of the poster along with the name and number of post made.

Sorry but no way to "tag" members on the forum with the current software. There are so many advantages of joining the AHFCA that casual users will see the light and join for all the extra benefits of membership. The Newsletter, Directory and shooting events are worth more than the $25.00 membership fee!!!

By gosh, an exclusive "Members Only" forum. That sounds like a great way to:

"...stimulate interest in the history and production of Fox shotguns."

Jim,

Click on the brown Fox Gun logo and you'll get the home page. In the upper right corner, just below the Collectors Forum tab is one for Membership.

Just to throw in my 2 cents...

Having been guilty of being a free rider for too long, I finally decided to send in a check-about two weeks ago- and become a member. The factors that finally pushed me in that direction were:

-A firearm transaction with a well known member of this board, that was excellent in all respects and is by far the most enjoyable long distance/online transaction I have ever had-and I had never met or emailed this person prior to this sale. Not only was the gun exactly as described, the whole experience was great, especially the phone discussions regarding Fox guns. This gave me an even greater appreciation for this board.

-The members only section.

-The overall sense of needing to support this site and to give back in some way in exchange for the help and assistance of the contributors.

-The other board that I-and many of you- check frequently, doublegunshop.com, seems to have changed and unfortunately seems to have less and less technical/shotgun specific discussion. Again, this makes a site like this even more valuable.

I look forward to contributing to this forum!

High$Trap, here you go.

Members that joined before 7/1/2008, must renew their membership before March 31, 2009. Statements go out this week. Members that joined after 7/1/2008, must renew their membership before March 31, 2010.

Thanks Frank!
Was hoping it was something like that. :D
Checks in the mail! Don't know why I've waited so long, probably not a bad idea to have a membership drive/reminder every now and again. Some people like me just need a good swift kick in the A$$!!! :P
Best regards, R Rambler

now's my time to join

Post by Melix »

Merry Christmas everyone....my best present for myself this year, other than spending time with my extended family, was the mail from my town hall that came on Christmas eve with my Class A license to carry large capacity!
I have until now been 'lurking', as I felt that since I couldn't take the Fox out of the closet, I should be learning everything I could in the meantime.
I will be sending in my membership application within the week. If I have neglected to thank anyone who has supplied insight or answers along the way in the past few months since I found this site, let me express my graditude here & now. You are a good bunch.
The one item remaining on my list is my pending Callahan letter, which should be arriving soon!
I hope everyone is having a great holiday!

NEW MEMBER PERSPECTIVE

Post by foxdoublegunner »

Gents,
I am one of those who has been lurking in the background debating whether or not to formally join the group. What finally convinced me to join was the helpful and courteous attitude that all of you display towards anyone who comes up on the board. Personally I appreciate the fact that there is no arm twisting to join. After you spend some time reading the posts, you can't help but see that this is a great bunch of folks. My membership application went in the mail today.
