Sterlingworth assembly drawing

Post by rndbbls »

I had a customer bring in a 12ga. Sterlingworth 2 barrel set (28"& 30") made in 1912. All the parts were contained in a zip lock bag, except the wood and barrels. I need a parts drawing or assembly manual for this gun. I saw Mike C's on the homepage, but I need more detail. I am familiar with most shotguns, but not this one. I would like to make sure I have all the parts, before starting restoration. Thanks, B

There are some good illustrations (not instructions) of Fox innards in "Double Shotguns" by Steven Dodd Hughes (Krause Publications). However they are copyrighted and I cannot scan or take a pic of them to post here. I've heard the book is out of print but you might check with Krause anyway, or failing that, look on E Bay, etc. Another option might be the NRA Firearms Books available from NRA or Brownells. I don't have them myself so I don't know which edition if any might have the A.H. Fox instructions. Brownells can probably tell you if you call them. Silvers

You might consider laying all the parts out in an orderly fashion (some arranged in pairs, etc.) and posting a pic. The collective experience here should be able to tell if something is missing.
