Disassembly Help !

Post by Jprahin »

Any suggestion getting the bottom screw of the receiver loose on a sterlingworth 16 gauge. I cannot get this thing to move at all and am afraid I will ruin the screw trying to loosen it.

This might help as it will provide the exact size screw drivers you need to do the job right:

Second thing is soaking that bottom screw in some good penetrating oil first before you try.

Some folks have put the gun in a padded vise and used a drill press with the proper screw driver bit installed and put downward pressure on the screw and turn the drill press collet by had.

Hope the above helps.

They can be very tough and factory must have put great torque on them to get slots lined up. Bobby

The drill press method works great but it pays to set it up properly so that everything is square and the stock is secure. Also be sure to unplug the drill press first!
