I say "BS" on what the seller "believes" to be. Why would a Fox promotional item not have "A H Fox" on it somewhere, and have foxes depicted chasing or stalking the pheasants.

It's just not consistent with Ansley's personality and attitude in promoting "The Finest Gun in the World".

And, a chamber pot ............ really?

It sure doesn't look anything like the one I had under my bed when I was a kid. That one is called a "Chamber Pot". We called ours a "Slop Pail". A porcelain covered pail with a handle. Yes, that was in NY State and we had outside plumbing back in the late 1930's and 1940's.

Better yet, I think the Association should buy this one.

I grew up in a two bedroom, one bath craftsman bungalow. My Father paneled and floored two attic sleeping rooms, and there was a china thunder mug in each of them. I still have them, but they are sitting in a linen closet in my house.

I suspect A.H. Fox Ltd. was a china manufacturer or dealer in Great Britain.

Since we've lowered ourselves here, pun intended, here's a story I heard many years ago.

There was a two or three story hotel in a small town near me in the early 1900's. Young couple from the country got hitched and came to town, checked into an upstairs room for their honeymoon. First night his bride had to make water, and used the chamber pot. He promptly tossed the contents out the upstairs window, without looking. There was a cop walking his beat just underneath, and was awash with the contents just dumped. Cop hollers and looks up to see the young groom leaning out the window, and says "Hey, boy, is this urine?" Country boy replies in all truthfulness "Nawsuh, it's her'n".

I hope this doesn't get out. If the Parker guys get wind of it they might be inspired to make one of those "peeing Calvin" decals :D !

Now look at what has shown up on ebay --

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Photogr ... SwL9hZiz~k

More likely the source of the chamber pot and pitcher.
